Staff members at

The Aurora Advertiser

have moved to a new location -- 33 West Olive in historic, downtown Aurora!

In one sense, the move will be a homecoming for the newspaper. In 1995, the business moved from the first block of West Olive to its former location on West Church Street.

In earlier years, the newspaper office was located in the first block of East Olive, according to Jewel Bagby, advertising manager.

Staff members are gathering boxes, sorting through the desks, shelves, cubby holes, etc. to see what to take, what to toss.

“We would ask the cooperation of our customers in the next few weeks as we relocate,” said Judy Dingman, publisher. “We will do our best to keep things going without a hitch, but, having moved before, something unexpected usually happens.”

The move began immediately after the July 17 paper was sent for printing that Thursday. Customers should plan to go to the new location if doing business in person after Friday, July 17.

Phone service should go uninterrupted. However, staff members may be out of reach due to moving. Staff will make every effort to return calls promptly.

“Once we get in, get unpacked and locate most of our things, we will plan an open house so customers and community members can visit our new abode,” said Dingman.

Since the closure of the pressroom in the spring of 2008, a large part of the building on Church Street has been unused. The new facility will more closely fit current operations.
