Members of the Aurora-Marionville Police Department and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT unit served search warrants at three addresses in the city of Aurora. The warrants were served on the morning of April 18 and led to multiple arrests.

Over recent weeks, officers had been investigating reported assaults, allegedly committed in connection with the sale and distribution of controlled substances. Prior to serving the search warrants, officers had applied for and received arrest warrants for four suspects in these cases. Officers are grateful to Lawrence County Prosecutor Don Trotter for his guidance and assistance in obtaining the search warrants and arrest warrants as soon as probable cause was developed, said a press release.

During the search, officers seized more than two pounds of marijuana, smaller quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine, several doses of a third substance (which will be sent for lab analysis), numerous items of paraphernalia and cash.

David W. Mangrum, 42, of Aurora, was arrested on a warrant charging assault first degree or attempt, serious physical injury or special victim; burglary first degree; armed criminal action; kidnapping, facilitating a felony, inflicting injury, terrorizing first degree; and tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution. Bond was set at $500,000.

Brandon Lee Davis, 25, of Aurora, was arrested on a warrant charging assault first degree or attempt, serious physical injury or special victim; burglary first degree and armed criminal action. Bond was set at $500,000.

Two other suspects are still being sought. They will be facing similar charges.
