The annual AFB Halloween Spooktacular in Downtown Aurora was once again capped off on Tuesday with the costume contest, where the most creative and best costumes were awarded with first, second and third place trophies.
In the 0-2 year age group, first place honors went to Brantlee Turner for his "little old man" costume, while Scarlett Buchholz was second place in her Raggedy Ann costume and Aidyn Cutbirth brought home third place with an owl costume.
Cohen Tacker was the first place winner in the 3-4 year category with a creative solar system costume. Sarah Barnes as a black widow spider was the second place winner, while Elly Boyd finished third as Glinda the Good Witch from the Wizard of Oz.
The Halo costume worn by Lucian McKinley was the first place winner in the 5-7 age group, while Mykel Arnold's Joker earned a second place trophy. In third place was Cambryn Cornelison as Jenny from Forrest Gump.
In the 8-10 year category, Jackson Holder brought home the first place trophy for his surfer costume, complete with a shark-bitten surf board. Second place honors went to Dakota Rhodes as a Life-Alert patient, while "Grandma" Olivia Crim was the third place finisher.
And in the group category, Cameron Lindsey and Madelyn Winchell were the winners with the cat lady and litter group costume. Mickey Mouse Club was the theme for second place winners Pearl, Ashley and Andrew Freiburg, while the Boyd family earned third place for its Wizard of Oz ensemble.
