Grant applications for the Aurora Area Community Foundation's 2017-2018 community grant round are due by 5 p.m. on December 17. The community grant-making program for Aurora Area Community Foundation is available for programs and organizations in the Aurora, Marionville and Verona areas.

Nonprofit, 501(c) (3) charitable, educational, religious, scientific and governmental organizations, as well as those fostering amateur sports competition and prevention of cruelty to children or animals, are eligible to apply for grants. Grant applications and policies are now available to download online at www.cfozarks.org/aurora or for pick-up at First Independent Bank or the office of James R. Ferguson, CPA, in Aurora.

Applicants should mail completed application packages and all attachments to Aurora Area Community Foundation, Attn: Grant Committee; PO Box 940; Aurora, MO 65605. Applications also may be emailed to jmuench@fibaurora.com.

The Aurora Area Community Foundation, established in 2006 as an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, now holds assets of more than $3.8 million in 26 funds. Since its founding, it has distributed more than $1,131,000 back to the community.

CFO is a public foundation and supports asset development, community-based grant making and organizational collaboration and leadership initiatives throughout southern Missouri. Since 1993, the Community Foundation of the Ozarks has offered community foundation services to smaller communities and rural counties in the Missouri Ozarks. CFO now has 49 regional foundations serving more than 50 counties south of the Missouri River. Each affiliate has its own governance board and for the most part operates as an autonomous organization.
