Runners, joggers and walkers around Aurora are invited to Mercy’s first Run to Care 5K run/walk on Saturday, October 21.
Early registration has begun and the sooner you sign up, the more you’ll save. The cost to register on or before Saturday, September 30, is $25 for individuals, which will also guarantee you will receive a t-shirt. After September 30, registration will cost $30, but a t-shirt is not guaranteed. Same-day registration will run from 7 to 8:30 a.m.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Mercy Aurora Mission Fund, which provides patients and their families food vouchers, prescription assistance, cab rides home from the hospital and more.
“As a community, we have an incredible opportunity to help others in a time of need,” said organizer Martha Youngblood. “We’re hopeful that many people will turn out and show their support for this great cause.”
The Run to Care event starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 21, at the Aurora Chamber of Commerce. An awards ceremony will be held shortly after the event to honor the top male and female participants, the top two finishers in each age division.
