Citizens of Barry and Lawrence counties are being asked to fill out a survey through the month of January to give the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library managers a better idea of what the citizens want from their public library.

The library board is still considering going back to voters with a funding initiative. The 15 cent increase in the property tax levy last April only won 44 percent support. The board subsequently approved suspending Saturday service.

The survey asks for opinions about the local library branches, rating the hours and days of the week they are open. The survey asks about some services patron would like to see at their library and asks if there would be support for the tax levy increase. It has been figured that the increase would raise a property tax by approximately $20 more per year.

The survey will be available at all branches through the month of January, everyone is encouraged to stop by their local branch and help the library by filling out a survey.
