The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday that an arrest had been made in the homicide case of 82-year-old Nolan Karch of Aurora.

After the department conducted the initial investigation and followed up on multiple leads, the Lawrence County Prosecutor has filed charges of first degree murder, first degree robbery, first degree burglary and armed criminal action against Shannon Hensley, 44 of Aurora, late Friday night.

The initial investigation began on Monday, January 2, after deputies were dispatched to the scene of a possible deceased person.

Early in the week, Hensley remained in custody at the Lawrence County jail and is being held without bond on the above charges. His first scheduled court date was on Monday.

The sheriff's office said the investigation in this case is still ongoing and further charges could be presented to the prosecutor.
