The Lawrence County Board for the Developmentally Disabled (LCBDD) recently purchased and donated books and DVDs for the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library system.

Funds from the Grace Gardner Memorial Book Project, which was established by LCBDD on August 23, 1999, funded the project.

Following is a list of DVDs donated:  Kids with Down Syndrome: Staying Healthy and Making Friends written and produced by Will Schermerhorn; The Power of Words: How We Talk About People with Autism Spectrum Disorders Matters! by Judy Endow, MSW; and Successfully Educating Preschoolers with Special Needs produced by Grace M. Hanlon.

The list of books includes:  Dietary Interventions in Autism Spectrum Disorders by Kenneth J. Aitken; Autism and the Transition to Adulthood by Paul Wehman, Marcia Datlow Smith and Carol Schall; The Autistic Spectrum -- Parents Daily Helper by Phillip Abrams and Leslie Henriques, MPH, foreword by Lorna Wing, M.D.; Helping Your Child with OCD by Lee Fitzgibbons, Ph.D. and Cherry Pedrick, RN; From Emotions to Advocacy, by Pam and Pete Wright; A Practical Guide to Autism by Fred R.
