Health department offers smoking cessation

The Lawrence County Health Department will be offering a free smoking cessation course starting at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 11.

Participants will meet every two weeks for an eight-week period. Sessions will include group meetings, counseling and free nicotine replacement.

The 30-minute sessions will be held in the community room of the Mt. Vernon  branch of the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library.

Anyone interested in participating in this program should call the health department at 466-2201 to reserve a spot.
