A fly-in and open house is on tap for local residents this weekend at the Jerry Sumners Sr. Aurora Municipal Airport. The airport is located just south of Highland Street.

The Aurora Lions Club will be serving breakfast from 8 until 11 a.m., at which time members will start serving lunch. The lunch menu ends at 3 p.m.

A popular part of previous fly-ins--the free rides for young eagles--is on the lineup. The free rides for children eight to 15 years of age will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 l p.m.

Others who would like to take an airplane ride over the local countryside can do so from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $15, according to organizers.

Other activities include:

• static displays

• skydiving demonstrations by Skydive Freefall Express

• a bounce house and giant slide for the younger kids

• music and karaoke from 4 to 8 p.m.

For more information, call Aurora Aviation (sponsor of the event) at 678-3000 or 888-745-1221.
