The Marionville Comets wrapped up their season last night with a 6-35 loss to Miller in the semifinal round of districts.
Both teams held strong in the first quarter. Marionville forced a turnover on downs on fourth and 23 in the first, but the Comets couldn't gain yardage for a touchdown.
Miller scored first in the second quarter with 7:38 left. The Cardinals scored a second touchdown in the quarter with 2:29 left in the half. Marionville blocked the punt to trail 0-13 at the half.
The Cardinals extended their lead to 19-0 before Marionville found the endzone on a pass from Ryan White to Nate Hill.
Miller gained two more touchdowns and a safety in the second half for the 35-6 win, ending Marionville's 2012 season.
