  • The Friends of the Aurora Band invite the community to attend the annual Fall Carnival from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, at Aurora High School.
The event includes a variety of food items (chili, soup, desserts and drinks), a costume contest, a haunted house, the carnival king/queen and prince/princess coronations, as well as inflatable bounce houses and several games.
Candidates for royalty include: seniors Chelsea Black and Caleb Stith, juniors Alicia Lindeman and Dalton Elerey, sophomores Lauren Barclay and Josh Wecker, freshmen Jasmine Hopper and Shane Everett, eighth graders Sydney Graham and Justin Turner, seventh graders Leslie Salas and Matt Guzman and sixth graders Payton Gilmore and Dylan Jackson.
The Aurora High School Jazz Band will make its first performance of the season, as well.
All jazz band students are also marching band students. While keeping up with all the marching band requirements for the season, they have pulled double duty working on their jazz routines.
Rob Springer serves as the director for both bands.
