The Aurora Lady Houns won over Walnut Grove in the Carthage Tournament on September 29, but lost to Jefferson City.
On September 27, Aurora lost to Seneca 1-7 after the Lady Indians scored six runs before the Lady Houns made it home.
Baylee Hilton pitched for Aurora with four strikeouts for the day.
Seneca scored its first run in the top of the first inning and another run in the top of the third.
The Lady Indians scored four runs in the top of the fifth.
In the bottom of the sixth, Sydney Shoemaker scored Aurora’s only run.
In the Carthage Tournament, Aurora defeated Walnut Grove 5-4.
Hilton pitched and had four strikeouts.
The Lady Tigers went on a 2-0 run early in the game, but Aurora gained the lead in the bottom of the fourth.
Hailey Paulsen scored on a Savanna Ryan single to right field. Paige Whitlock scored the next run.
Ryan scored on a double to centerfield by Jacey Clayton. Clayton scored Aurora’s fourth run on a Baylee Hilton double to left field.
Walnut Grove tied the score at four in the top of the fifth, but Aurora came away with the win in the bottom of the sixth.
Shoemaker singled to left field to bring in Clayton for the winning run.
The Lady Houns narrowly lost to Jefferson City in the tournament with a score of 6-7.
Paulsen pitched for Aurora with one strikeout.
Jeff City went up 4-0 in the first inning and kept Aurora scoreless until the top of the fourth. By then, Jeff City led 5-0.
Whitlock scored Aurora’s first run in the top of the fourth, while Clayton, Baylee Hilton, Shoemaker, Cierra Hilton and Paulsen scored in the fifth. Aurora pulled within one to put the score at 6-5.
Jeff City scored its winning run in the bottom of the fifth to put the score at 7-6.
