  • Missouri’s original corn maze will be open for its 14th year, beginning September 22 and running through November 3.
The MAiZE, as it’s commonly called, consists of seven acres of corn with a design featuring a tornado and the words “Joplin -- Branson -- Standing Strong.”
In addition to providing funding for Grip Boys’ Home, a portion of proceeds from the MAiZE will benefit Children’s Haven of Joplin, which was impacted by the tornado of 2011.
Besides the MAiZE, there are a variety of fun activities -- hayrides, campfires, corn cannon, animals, hilllbilly shooting range, etc.
There’s also the feed wagon for some of the group’s famous chili, barbecue sandwiches, and other treats. For the youngsters, there’s Lil’ Kernals CORNer with the corn box, bouncer and games.
For convenience of patrons, the restroom facilities have been updated.
It’s all located just six miles west of Aurora and just south of Verona -- only a stone’s throw off of Highway 60.
